how-to: edit a page

This HOW-TO assumes you have the appropriate permissions to edit a page. Please note: Editing a page has two parts. You can edit a page’s properties, or you can edit content on a page. Both options are listed below.

Editing a Page’s Properties

  1. In the dashboard, click Edit a page. Alternately you can just click the Pages tab.
  2. Click the ‘Edit properties’ icon next to the page you want to edit.
  3. Edit the properties you want to change.
  4. Click Save new properties.

Common Error: I changed the name of the page, but the address for the page still includes the old name.
In this case you are required to edit the slug. If no slug is provided when you first create the page, it defaults to one based on the name of the page at that time. If you change the name of the page, the slug isn’t changed. You need to edit it manually.

Editing a Page’s Contents

  1. In the dashboard, click Edit a page. Alternately you can just click the Pages tab.
  2. Click the title of the page that you wish to edit. Alternately you can click the ‘Edit properties’ icon and then click View page.
  3. You should now see your page rendered but with orange boxes showing which areas of content you can edit.
  4. In the top right of the content area you should see a small white icon. Click it to edit the contents of that area. Please note: Formatting content, snippets, and versioning are covered in other HOW-TOs
